It is not only one of the biggest mosques in India, but also in the world. The Wagah border is part of the Grand Trunk Road and was the only road link between India and Pakistan, until 1999. As part of this ceremony, a soldier of each army stands on each side of the gate, which opens at sunset, as the flags on each side are lowered simultaneously. This is then followed by a handshake between soldiers and the gates are closed again.
