Do you want to escape from the humdrum city existence to an abode of peace with a serene ambience then you have to visit Zuluk. This place makes an offbeat tourists destination, as it has just recently caught the eyes of the tourism industry. Zuluk hovers over the craggy terrain in the East of Sikkim. It is a village situated in the proximity of the Indo China border at an altitude of 10000ft. As it is on the historical Old Silk Route, Zuluk got its prominence. Aritar is another little hamlet situated at Rongli, in East of Sikkim, at a height of 4600ft. Take delights in this untouched form of nature. You will be greeted with emerald forests, Lampokhari Lake, occasional waterfalls, terrace farming on the mountain slopes and sweeping hills, with deep gorges. You just cannot miss the breathtaking view of the Khangchendzonga range, and this is sure to leave lasting memories on your mind which will never be effaced with time. Visit Ramitey, Tinchuley view point and Damsang Fort, at Sillery Gaon. Would you like to take a walk in the clouds, visit Gangtok located at a height of 5500 feet. Take one kilometer ride on the bi-cable Zig-back ropeway, for a bird’s eyeview of Gangtok. You can also get a sprawling view of Gangtok town, if you get to Ganest Tok that is located on the ridge. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, called the Hanuman Tok, at an altitude of 7200 feet and about nine kilometers up hill, from Gangtok. If you are here in December, you can witness the annual Gangtok Food and Cultural festival that displays Sikkim’s multi-cultural cuisine, coupled with music and dance performances. The Namgyal Research Institute of Tibetology has a huge collection of some of the rarest Tibetan, Lepcha and Sanskrit manuscripts, statues, 200 Buddhist icons and rare Thankas or tapestries.
