Vastrapur Lake

Vastrapur Lake is a picturesque tourist spot located towards the west of Ahmedabad. It is believed that the lake got its name after Narsinh Mehta, also known as Narsi Mehta the great poet saint from Ahemdabad. In the year 2002, AMC took over the renovation task of this lake. They beautified it and transformed into a famous and one of the most frequented tourist spots of the city. Weekends are usually crowded here. A huge number of people from Ahemdabad, nearby places and tourists across the nation visit the lake. The lake is quite famous for an open-air theater integrated serving visitors with a unique experience of watching movies surrounded by the beauty of nature. The lake also encompasses a huge and well maintained children’s park. Surrounded by a beautiful pathway, many joggers, walkers, and health conscious individuals travel all the way here early in the morning and evening. With beautiful lush green lawns bordering the lake, it has been serving as a central hub of Ahmedabad city. A huge number of cultural events are organized and conducted here on a regular basis. The water from pious Narmada River is also allowed to flow into this lake. The lake is bordered by beautiful gardens combined with artistic stonework. For those looking forward to treat their taste buds with Gujarati and north Indian delicacies can reach out to the street food vendors selling lip smacking snacks near the lake. There are many restaurants situated near the lake. Tourists and locals love to visit this place as it makes for a cool place to chill out with friends and family in the evening. Its close proximity with the famous Alpha One makes it a famous place especially among locals. Boating facilities are also available here. Recently the place has been developed as a famous breakfast hub.
